Legal and Privacy Information

In what follows, binsec GmbH (hereinafter referred to as binsec or binsec academy) provides information about the collection, use and processing of personal information pursuant to Section 13 of the Telemediengesetz (TMG) [German Telemedia Act].

Use of Personal Data

According to Section 3 Para. 1 of the Bundesdatenschutzgesetz (BDSG) [German Federal Data Protection Act], personal data is defined as 'individual details of the personal or material circumstances of an identified or identifiable natural person'. Personal data includes, among others, names, addresses, email addresses or even your IP address, where applicable.

It is possible to use our website without providing personal data. However, you do leave behind your IP address, which is currently still considered personal data by the judicial authorities, although this is only the case for website providers under certain circumstances.

We use the country code derived from your IP address to set the appropriate language (German or English) and to make the use of our services easier and more enjoyable for the user. Furthermore, participants' IP addresses are used temporarily to prevent misuse of the services and are deleted in the absence of statutory storage requirements.

If personal data is collected on our site (e.g. name, telephone number or email address on the contact form) this always takes place on a voluntary basis. This data shall not be passed on to third parties without your express permission.

Customer data collected from registered users or participants of courses or through other contracts will be used for the purpose of fulfilment and execution of the contract.

Use of Session Cookies

binsec academy uses so-called "cookies". They are designed to make our services more user-friendly, effective and secure. Cookies are small data files stored on your end device. The type of cookies we use are called "session cookies", which means they are automatically deleted once you leave the website. You can block the setting of session cookies by consulting the data privacy settings on your web browser; however, please note that if you do so, you may encounter malfunctions when using the website.

Access Data/Server Log Files

binsec collects information about every visit to the website (so-called "server log files") and analyses this statistically for operational and security purposes and to improve its services. Details include:

Name of the retrieved website, file, date and time, volume of data transmitted, notification of successful access, browser type and version, the user's operating system, referrer URL (the site previously visited), IP address and its storage in anonymized form and the requesting provider. However, binsec reserves the right to subsequently check the log files if there is concrete evidence to suspect unlawful use.

Objection to Spam

Third parties are hereby expressly forbidden from using published contact information for binsec to send advertising material that has not been expressly solicited. binsec expressly reserves the right to take legal measures in the event of unsolicited sending of offers and advertising information, such as spam emails.

Getting in Touch

When getting in touch with binsec academy (e.g. using the contact form or by email), we store user data for the time it takes to process the request. The data is deleted shortly afterwards once this is complete.

Security of Data

In order to meet its data privacy obligations under Section ยง 9 BDSG and the accompanying appendix, there are technical and organisational procedures in place at binsec academy to ensure the security of its databases and data processing procedures. Employees responsible for processing requests are obligated to comply with data privacy regulations.

We would like to point out that the transfer of data on the Internet (e.g. when communicating by email) can present security risks. We have, however, encrypted our website and email communications. Complete protection of data against third-party access is not possible without additional user software.

Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service provided by Google Inc. ("Google"). Google Analytics uses so-called "cookies", which are text files placed on your computer to help the website analyse how you use the site. The information generated by the cookie regarding your use of this website is usually transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there.

In cases of activated IP anonymization on this website, the visitor's IP address will, however, first be truncated by Google within Member States of the European Union or in other countries that are contracting parties to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transferred to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. IP anonymization is activated on this website. Google will use this information on behalf of the operator of this website to evaluate your use of the website in order to compile reports on website activities and provide other services related to website and Internet use for the website operator. The IP address communicated by your browser as part of Google Analytics is not associated with any other data held by Google. You may prevent the storage of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser software; however, please note that if you do so, you may not be able to use all the functions of this website to their full extent. You can also prevent the release of data generated by the cookies about your use of the website (including your IP address) to Google as well as the processing of this data by Google, by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available at the following link: http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de. Instead of using the browser add-on within browsers on mobile devices, you can configure your browser's data privacy settings to ensure that it always tells websites not to track your activities ("do not track" setting).

Your Privacy Rights

You have the fundamental right to obtain information about the personal data we have about you and to ask that this be amended or deleted when we are able to identify you. You are not entitled to request that your personal data be deleted if there is a legal obligation to retain such data. The contact details of binsec GmbH can be found in the legal notice. The right to obtain information includes the scope, origin and purpose of storage of your data.
